I generally don't leave reviews on items I purchase from Amazon. I have rarely if ever been disappointed, but just never take the time. BUT this little sword and shield set deserves my attention! First of all, I lucked out and caught it on sale for little over $12, so with Prime shipping it was a dirt cheap total. But the quality is amazing! I searched high and low to find something like this for my son ( his elementary class had learned about medievil society this semester and he was hooked!). Many sites were more expensive and certainly couldn't get it to me by Christmas. SO those points are a plus alone. But beyond that, this set is well made, solid wood and has no cons to find. The image you get is random, but the one my son got looks so much better in person! The factory image just doesn't do the quality justice. Edges are smooth, paint is perfectly done and it's a solid sturdy set to be his own medievil knight with! Compared to the junky plastic sword and shield sets you find so commonly out there in giant box store land, this a rare find. Well made and so much better for the imagination of a "young knight in training" than the sub par examples you usually see. I am nothing but pleased and have actually already ordered a 2nd set for a young cousin's birthday this month.

The sword / shield set were fairly durable and the kids loved playing with them. The boys constantly hit their shield with their own sword, making noise. Didn't seem to hurt the toys at all. Only downside is that they are not made in the US.

Our boys have spent numerous hours in our backyard playing with these. they have been knights, soldiers, gladiators, pirates and anything else they could think of. these are made of wood and I have been pleasantly surprised at how well they have held up. highly recommend if your boys enjoy pretending and playing with swords.
